Troubleshooting
Common explanations for missing Workflow records, IBM connection problems, unavailable source navigation, compiler target issues, and incomplete results.
A circuit or execution is not in Workflow
- Confirm the code executed in Spinorio Lab with the instrumented kernel/image.
- Automatic capture is centered on supported Qiskit-family objects and boundaries; another installed SDK may not produce the same Workflow records.
- Use Workflow Refresh after a completed cell if the page was already open.
- For historical source navigation, remember that moved/deleted notebooks or replaced cells can make a previously captured source location unavailable even though the captured scientific record remains.
IBM connection or synchronization problem
- Authentication failed: check the complete IBM Cloud API key or create a replacement key.
- No service instance/QPU: verify the IBM account, region, service instance, and entitlements. Successful key validation does not imply access to every QPU.
- A completed job has no result: use Refresh from IBM. Provider result payloads can be unavailable, unsupported, incomplete, or no longer retained.
- QiskitRuntimeService() in the notebook is still unauthenticated: Provider Connections does not inject the stored IBM key into notebook code.
Compiler source or target is unavailable
- The source selector requires a preserved circuit with a saved QPY artifact.
- A target is disabled when its qubit capacity is smaller than the selected circuit width.
- Live IBM QPUs require a connected provider account and explicit service-instance selection; saved/reference targets remain independent options.
- Calibration-based fidelity optimization is not currently available.
Project record or source is unavailable
- Project inspectors authorize against the selected branch and exact included items; unrelated/private later records are intentionally excluded.
- Historical source that was never captured is not reconstructed and may be labeled Source not captured.
- Removing a member prevents future project access, but already downloaded bytes/copies cannot be recalled.
- A viewer does not get a writable contributor branch unless promoted to Contributor.
